Introducing WOHASU® Women’s Initiative

WOHASU Women Main Asset

WOHASU® Women: Advancing Wellbeing, Health, and Happiness

At WOHASU, we believe that when women flourish, they uplift families, transform workplaces, and strengthen communities for generations.

This initiative is dedicated to empowering women by enhancing their wellbeing, health, and happiness across personal and professional domains, with a strong focus on workplace wellbeing.

Our mission focuses on three priorities:

  1. Equity and Belonging: Drive equitable policies and cultivate workplaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.
  2. Health and Resilience: Equip women with resources to reduce stress, prevent burnout, and strengthen resilience through targeted programs and training.
  3. Culture of Wellbeing: Partner with organizations to foster environments that prioritize flexibility, psychological safety, and empathy, enabling women to succeed.

Why Women’s Wellbeing Matters for All

When women thrive, society flourishes.

Women are the cornerstone of families, workplaces, and communities. Their wellbeing directly influences the people they care for and the environments they impact. Yet, today, women face an unprecedented wellbeing crisis.

  • 45% of women globally experience daily stress, significantly higher than men (39%), according to Gallup.
  • 53% of women report feeling more stressed than a year ago (Deloitte), and women leaders are leaving companies at record rates due to burnout and lack of support (McKinsey).
  • Women shoulder disproportionate caregiving responsibilities—balancing careers, children, and aging family members—further limiting leadership opportunities and professional growth.

These challenges demand action.

Inaugural Event

The initiative’s global launch took place during the WOHASU Women: Harnessing Gallup Insights for Women’s Workplace Wellbeing and Success event at Gallup’s Headquarters in Washington DC.

We welcomed a distinguished experts panel including Georgetown University Professor Dr. Ella Washington, Vox Media Editor-in-Chief & Publisher Swati Sharma, WOHASU CEO Karen Guggenheim, Gallup Director of Hiring Analytics Kristin Barry, and Gallup Managing Director Ilana Ron Levey.

We are very proud of our Knowledge Partnership with Gallup on this important event. We welcomed an international audience in person and online, and launched an article sharing new data on how women are feeling at work and how we can build a culture that fosters women’s wellbeing at work.

Together we can change the way the world works.

Ripple Effect

Research underscores the ripple effect of investing in women. Studies show that healthier, happier women caregivers raise emotionally resilient children, strengthening families and communities. Gallup data reveals that equity-focused organizations see greater engagement and retention across all demographics.

Investing in women’s wellbeing isn’t just good business—it’s a blueprint for societal progress.

Driving Change Through Policies and Culture

Addressing the barriers women face requires businesses to rethink policies and embrace cultural transformation. Meaningful changes include:

  • Flexible Work: Offer remote work, job-sharing, or adjustable hours to support work-life balance.
  • Caregiving Support: Provide on-site childcare or subsidies and expand leave policies for all caregivers.
  • Leadership Development: Launch mentorship and sponsorship programs tailored to women’s advancement.
  • Mental Health Resources: Establish employee assistance programs (EAPs) for stress management and resilience building.
  • Inclusive Workplaces: Foster cultures rooted in empathy, belonging, and equity.
  • Measure and Improve: Track the impact of initiatives to drive continuous progress.

These initiatives create workplaces that not only empower women but also fuel innovation, enhance wellbeing, and boost productivity.

Call to Action

Commit to driving meaningful change by:

  • Developing policies, programs and resources: Remove barriers and create opportunities for women to succeed and thrive.
  • Investing in management training: Equip managers with skills to support workplace wellbeing.
  • Transforming workplace culture: Foster environments that prioritize wellbeing, flexibility, psychological safety and health.
  • Measuring impact: Ensure continuous improvement with data-driven accountability.

Take action to create workplaces where women thrive—because when women succeed, everyone benefits.
